Equity: USA indices are slightly higher as news bites from the USA visit to China are deemed positive. A potential change to NVDA H200 export restrictions is lifting NVDA and Bessent comments that China would order some planes is lifting BA. Oil is still elevated so nothing concrete yet on China helping to open SoH. Many CEOs from the largest financial companies are on the trip and leading to speculation that China will open financial markets to USA companies; however no news. MAGS are lead by TSLA and NVDA, both CEOs in China. Semis are overall despite NVDA higher with dispersion leading to selling in other names. Software is higher which is a flip of the long semi, short software trade. China stocks are lower which may be profit taking after a big move Wed and worth watching today. Retail sales premarket will move XRT which has been weak along with WMT, COST which have been holding up. SPX call wall is 7500 with largest premarket levels 7525, 7400 which set the max range and traders are positioned for a move higher.

AMAT
AMAT reports earnings after the close. AMAT is a large semi equipment company. Call wall 460, put wall 410 and option positioning sets a range from 500-380. Expected move +/-31 or 467-405. IV is skewed to calls so traders are leaning to the upside so potential for an extended upside move on a large beat however downside risk if earnings are inline. Diagonals or unbalanced flys are a way to trade. AMAT has outside the expected move 5 out of 8 prior reports so take care. Other names like LRCX, KLAC, ASML will move in sympathy with AMAT earnings.
